This waterfront town offers a great selection of delicious local restaurants, and lively bars with a nice mix of retail showcasing local artists. A bit of a Key West vibe can certainly be felt here. The brightly colored bungalows and modern homes showcase the natural beauty that is Gulfport. Yes, there is a beach in Gulfport but not anything like its neighbors, the Gulf Beaches. This waterfront heaven is the ideal spot for volleyball and catching sunsets. Friendly and fun-loving is the best way to describe Gulfport to outsiders. You will feel welcome here, and there is a sense of community and pride.

1. Catch some air and bust a move in this groovy artist paradise.

The community hosts a health and wellness expo and events throughout the year to keep you physically and mentally healthy, all while enjoying this little slice of heaven. The artist community is a primary driver of style in Gulfport and it shows through the Art Walk, the Indie Faire showcasing local artists and one-of-a-kind creations, and the Catherine A Hickman Theater of Gulfport exhibiting local and international artists and performers. This is an artist's playground and healthy is a way of life. Fresh produce and locally made hand-crafted treats can be found at the Fresh Market. Bust out your skateboard and enjoy the fabulous water views while catching some air at the Gulfport Skatepark. Get into the groove and dust off your dancing shoes, it’s time to get down at the Gulfport Casino and Ballroom. They host weekly dance classes to learn ballroom dancing, swing and for the more adventurous try your hand at the tango.


2. Sail away into the sweet saltwater life.

Waterfront life would not be complete without a boat and Gulfport has that covered. The Gulfport Municipal Marina offers 192 wet slips available to the public, and 25 dry shortage options for your boat. They also have plenty of places to drop in your boat or kayak for a day on the water. The saltwater life in Gulfport includes single family homes with private docks, and condominiums with water views that make coming home feel like living on vacation.

3. Visit the Blueberry Patch

Gulfport has a long tradition of welcoming arts in the community; the Blueberry Patch was founded in 1977 and is still going strong with a mission to spread goodness. The artists, writers, and musicians that formed the Blueberry Patch have created a place for artists to collaborate and express themselves. You will adore this delightfully whimsical and chill place. They host Open mic nights and open jam sessions. The patch is for Adults only, and this is the place to bust out your glow sticks and bubbles. You get the picture, it’s adults at play. Find a place to get comfortable and enjoy the fabulous costumes on display, good vibes, and love being shared in this community.


4. Celebrate Pink Flamingos

Oh, that’s so Gulfport, where else can you explore the Pink Flamingo house tours, a Gecko Fest and Mullet Mutiny? The Pink Flamingo House tours showcase the architectural styles and inspiring gardens that grace this sweet little waterfront town. From the old craftsman bungalows, Key West revivals, classic Florida ranch homes, modern builds, and the everlasting Roebuck kit homes. They find a reason to celebrate throughout the year the end of Summer multi-day festival, Gecko Fest, includes the Gecko Ball and the Gecko Crawl. This is a fun event for the entire family and as a bonus, your furry family members are welcome too. The Gecko fest features live music, a parade, costume contests, and a pub crawl with a poker run and prizes.


5. Support the community and share the good vibes

The heart of this community is large; they have a free clothing swap monthly and the Mobile Pantry program supported by the Gulfport Lions Club. Gulfport is a feel-good city and it just exudes good vibes.
